Andrew Robert "Andy" Potts (1976-) is an American triathlete who competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics and finished twenty-second with a total time of 1:55:36.47.
He won the bronze medal as a swimmer in the men's 400m individual medley at the 1995 Summer Universiade.
Potts won the 2007 Ironman 70.3 World Champion in Clearwater, Florida in a time of 3:42:33.[1] He won the gold medal at the 2007 Pan American Games triathlon.
He has two World Cup wins and qualified for the 2004 Olympic team by finishing as the second American, 11th overall, at the 2004 ITU Triathlon World Championships in Madeira, Portugal. Hunter Kemper, who was the first American, had already qualified for the team. He qualified for his first world triathlon championships by finishing fifth overall (2nd U.S.) at the Race to Athens - Honolulu triathlon on April 18, 2004, Twice he had top-10 finishes at ITU World Cup races in 2003, his first full year of elite/professional racing. In 2003, he joined the resident team that trains at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. He went pro/elite in January of 2003.
