He completed marathons in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., on January 18, 1998. He had planned to run the Marine Corps Marathon as his DC race in October 1997, but was snowed in at the Denver airport and missed the race, so he called the President of the DC Road Runners Club, who scheduled a new marathon involving 8.5 laps around DC's Potomac Park on Jan. 18 to help him and others complete their circuit. On June 21, 2008 Weigner completed the 150 mile Desert RATS Stage Race on the Kokopelli Trail from Fruita, CO to Moab, UT, and was the oldest finisher of that event. |
