Lauren Centrowitz is a collegiate cross country runner.

She is the daughter of Matt Centrowitz, the American U track coach.

At Broadneck HS, Lauren finished third in the mile at the Nike Indoor Championships during her senior season ... 2004 Penn Relays runner-up in the mile ... Gained All-American honors in the 1500 meters at the 2003 U.S. Junior National Championships ... Won eight state high school titles in the 800 meters, mile and two-mile ... Two-time Maryland cross country individual champion.

As a member of the Stanford track team, she was a member of the American record-holding 4 x1500 meter relay team that won the Penn Relays in 2006 (Their 17:18.63 is not a collegiate record, because a Villanova team which includes Ireland's Sonia O'Sullivan ran .53 seconds faster in 1990.)[1] ... Runner-up honors in the 1500m at the 2007 Pac 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships... Earned All-American honors with her 9th place finish at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Centrowitz was named to the 2005 and 2006 Pac-10 All-Academic team.

2004 Cross Country Season (Freshman): Competed at the NCAA Championships as Stanford placed fifth ... Finished 14th at the Pac-10 Championships to help the Cardinal win the team title ... Stanford's No. 4 runner with a seventh-place finish on the 4,000 meter course at the Stanford Invitational ... A second-team All-Pac-10 selection.

2005 Cross Country Season (Sophomore):Earned All-American honors after finishing 47th at the NCAA Championships and contributing to Stanford's national championship ... Was 12th at the NCAA West Regional as the Cardinal claimed the team title ... Recorded an 11th-place finish to help Stanford to the Pac-10 championship ... Finished third on the 4,000 meter course at the Stanford Invitational.

2006 Cross Country Season (Junior): Helped guide the Cardinal to its second straight national championship ... Finished in 35th place at the NCAA West Regional, helping the Cardinal to a first place team finish ... Earned a 12th place finish at the Pac-10 Championships as Stanford earned the team title.

Centrowitz was the top female finisher in the 2007 Annapolis 10 Miler with a time of 1:04:56.
