Life University is a chiropractic school which offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. It was founded in 1974, and has since achieved prominence in track and cross country due to the number of Kenyan athletes who attend. In 2000, it was the first institution in National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) history to win the men's and women's outdoor track titles in the same year.[1]

The cross country team has won the Boston Mayor's Cup Cross Country men's team competition (the Squires Cup) in 1995 and 1999.[2]

The track program received national attention in 1997 when it recruited Philippa Raschker, a 49-year-old woman who had immigrated from Germany to run on its varsity track team.[3]

Although Life U does not have a track and cross country team at this time, it does have a triathlon team.[4]
