Central Arkansas joined the Southland Conference in 2006. In July 2009, the Athletic Department was notified this week by the NCAA that it has moved into its fourth and final year of transition to Division I status. UCA’s baseball and women’s soccer programs will also have full Division I eligibility this season in accordance with the NCAA’s fast-track standards. The Bears began the transition from Division II to Division I in 2006.[1] The University is in the process of constructing a new Mondo track surrounding a new natural grass soccer field.
